Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

I recently had a chance to review Sony's new Playstation Certified Xperia Play Android Mobile Phone, And I must say it is packed full of goodies. The Xperia line has really taken off since the release of the X10 but the new Xperia Line are really standing out.

The Play comes with a 4" Capacitive Multi Touch Screen, 16M Colors and Google's Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread OS. Under the hood the Play is running a 1GHz Scorpion processor  and a  Adreno 205 GPU which runs the newest games flawlesly. They also added 1GB of internal memory which 512MB of it is the phones RAM.  Sony went all out with the Play adding a game pad which for most was a dream for if you have tried playing games with the touch screen you know how handy a gamepad can be. And to try out the new gamepad EA has offered a list of Free games for the Xperia Play owners, which consist of "Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, Sims 3 HD, Dark Space, Battlefield 2 Bad Company, D.A.R.K, FIFA 10, Tetris HD, Worms HD" Not bad for free, there is also a lot more games to choose from including the ever popular "MineCraft"

Sony also thought of the Social Butterfly and Photo Buffs by adding a rear 5MP camera with LED Flash, AutoFocus, and a 1.2MP VGA Front Facing camera for video chat. And pretty much every application is setup to send photos and video including the Facebook Application & Gmail and many more.
As for Navigation it comes with Google's Navigation Application which is pretty good for a stock app and same goes for Google Maps, I tried out the Street View and was quite impressed with the phones fast loading times and pinch zoom and rotate. For the more advanced GPS users there is Co-Pilot which is a paid application but is worth every penny.

But overall the Xperia Play is a great product and most people will be more than satisfied with it but for the advanced users who want more power or better photo quality you may want to consider Sony's new Xperia Arc S for your needs as the Xperia Play is no SLR Camera....

Pros:
-Game Pad
-Lightweight Design
-Better Battery Life
-Portable HotSpot

Cons:
-No Light Behind Home Keys
-Camera Not Big Enough
-No Way To Turn Off Auto Brightness Until Update
-No PSN Network Access
-Screen Should Have Been Bigger
